Big Brother Parrot

One of the standout items in Davina’s tour of the house tonight was a rather cool looking full size blue parrot. This one has been nicknamed Davina McCaw and when prompted, it squawked, “You’re live on Channel 4, please do not swear”.

I love this thing already - it looks like a must have item for a Big Brother fan. I have no idea where it comes from - I’m assuming it’s some kind of talking parrot toy which has a recordable greeting. I will try to find out more and update this post when I know!

Big Brother 2010 is Go!

The final ever series of Big Brother (well, so they say!) launches tonight on Channel 4.

80 potential housemates gathered outside the house to be told if they have made it into the house.

The good news about this year’s series is that Channel 4 has at least given fans the chance to watch the house 24 / 7 with a live streaming option through the website.

Alex Reid’s Punchbag with Numbers

Remember painting by numbers? Here’s your chance to punch by numbers, too.

Alex Reid was given a special task to “kick the shit” out of the group’s snowman, which he duly did, and was rewarded with an hour’s alone time with a punch bag in the task room. It was quite a cool looking free standing fitness bag with numbers all around it which you use to measure your hitzone accuracy. Alex Reid certainly didn’t waste the opportunity and when he left the task room, he had built up an incredible sweat after an hour’s full on pounding.

Gentlemen’s Ballscratcher

One of the early items that caught my eye in the Big Brother house was the “Gentlemen’s Ballscratcher”. Whether this is something that celebrities use in their every day lives - some might say that Dane and Alex have used the same one before - I don’t honestly know. It’s nine inches long, comes in an attractive display box and has a small hand at what I imagine to be the scratching end.

This evening saw the final series of Celebrity Big Brother kick off on Channel 4.

What do you think of Big Brother 10?

I wasn’t sure I was going to post anything to the site this year, but I thought I would just get a couple of things off my chest abotu this year’s Big Brother.

Firstly, WHERE’S THE FEED? Come on, Big Brother without the live feed during the day? What’s all this about? What are they thinking?

And why have they ruined the eviction interview by making it a cross between “The Apprentice: You’re Fired” and Question Time? It’s too analytical, too confrontational and too much of a downer after the excitement of the eviction. They’ve really messed that up.

And why have they ruined BBBM? That was once a hilarious look at what was happening in the house, and now it’s a once a week angry Jeremy Kyle type affair? Come on, bring some of the joy and humour back.

Here’s my thoughts on some of the housemates….

Wolfman - Either a complete twit or actually quite funny, but ultra deadpan and dry about it. Undecided.

Sree - Harmless but annoying.

Halfwit - Oh god, he speaks and I cringe. The reason why mute buttons were invented.

Rodrigo - Cute as a button and in awe of the Queen.

Sophie - “Piece of meat” but lovely. Is it a showmance with Kris?

Karly - Hmm seen her moan once about something, that’s all.

Nourin - Stunning and at least quite sensitive with silly Sree’s clumsy declarations of love.

Charlie - Seems pleasant enough!

Angel - Initially scared me, but warming to her.

Celebrity Big Brother Starts Tonight

The new series of Celebrity Big Brother starts tonight… we will be updating this post with details of the celebrity contestants to enter the house.

Update - first housemate is Latoya Jackson who sounds a bit like Minnie Mouse.

Update - next housemate is Muttya, formerly of the Sugarbabes and now a solo performer.

Update - It’s Mini-me! Verne who was in the Austin Powers makes his way into the house through a special stepless entrance.

Update - Fourth contestant is socialist scottish politican, Tommy Sheridan. It’s this year’s George Galloway!

Update - Up next is topless model Lucy Pinder who describes herself as a bit of a “tory bird”.

Update - Look out, it’s Ben Adams from A1! Apparently he does a lot of producing and writing these days.

Stuart Dives Off Stage Into Crowd

Stuart has managed to keep up quite a cool persona in the house, and then blew it within a few seconds of leaving by diving into the crowd, only for them to move out the way and let him land on the floor.

Kat Dancing!

OMG, this is one of the funniest bits of Big Brother this year, second only perhaps to Mikey eating a scotch bonnet chilli!

Dale Evicted from Big Brother House

Dale was evicted last night from the Big Brother House. It was a straight choice between the student PE teacher, and Stuart, the whining Manc. Personally I thought Stu was a certainty to go. He brings nothing to the house, pretended he wanted to go when really he wanted to stay and basically wouldn’t be missed.

At the end of Dale’s interview with Davina, he was reunited in a not-at-all-cynical move with Jen, he object of his desires in the house.
