Stephanie Evicted From Big Brother

I did say earlier in the week that Stephanie should probably because she didn’t much effort into the secret mission, but I was sad to see her evicted on Friday night. She was a pretty girl who was desperate not to be the first evicted. And really there I think she had a lot more potential to be an interesting housemate than Mario or Lisa, with the beginnings of a closeness to Rex. I think Rex’s girlfriend will probably be very pleased that Steph is out.

Is Alex really that bad after all?

I heard on the radio about the hundreds of complains to Ofcom about Alex’s bullying in the Big Brother house, and I’ve been pretty disgusted with the way she behaves. But I was watching the highlights show last night and couldn’t help but feel some sympathy for her. As she said, this is someone that has had to fight for everything she’s got, and probably what she has got isn’t all that much. Then you have someone like Rex who has a pretty privileged upbringing with his parents handing him a business on a plate (if you excuse the pun), just coming along and deciding he will use her lighter. Or Mikey putting her underwear on. Alex is clearly very possessive about her things, and is that really such a crime?

Ok, her crime is that she talks to people in a really disgusting way, but maybe spending time with people who don’t talk to each other like that will be a good thing so hopefully there will be some benefit to her from being in the Big Brother house if she is willing to learn new things about herself and change the way she is.

Joseph Joseph Index Chopping Boards, as seen on Big Brother

It’s eviction day tomorrow and someone will be leaving the house. I don’t particularly want her to go but I think it should be Steph because I think her attitude helped cause the secret mission to fail.

But whilst one of the four facing eviction will get the chop on Friday night, the rest of the housemates are doing their chopping on this rather fabulous Index Chopping board set from ‘Joseph Joseph’. Lisa, Mario, Steph and Luke Face Public Vote

Luke, Lisa, Mario and Stephanie now face the public vote after the rest of the house guessed that Mario and Lisa were the secret couple. It’s a shame because I like most of the four. Mario seems a good guy, Luke is a total character, Steph could be a good housemate to keep longer and Lisa hasn’t really done much yet but I wouldn’t like to see her go so soon. Did you spot when she caught the bouquet at the wedding? There will be footie teams up and down the country trying to sign her as a goalie I think.

Rather than any of these four, i would much sooner see Alex go who has jumped to the top of my “least fave housemate” list with her horrible attitude.

Underbed Storage

I caught sight of the underbed storage boxes used in the basic bedroom. I call it basic - you know the one I mean. The one that *isn’t* sumptious luxury. So anyway, they look very much like the Dilling Underbed Storage Boxes from Ikea to me! They cost £5.99 and are a great way to get some extra storage space in your bedroom - if you have enough space under your bedstead. The height is 20cm.

Who’s the most annoying so far?

It’s early days but the only housemate who has annoyed me so far is Stephanie. She’s obviously unhappy about the secret mission where she has to pretend to be an item with Mario, but instead of taking it out on Big Brother, she has a go at poor old Mario. He’s just going along with it and has to put up with some moany teenager. I think she should just quit moaning and being a cow to him, and play the game!

21:00 Big Brother has started

21:05 Phew, I was going to bet on Davina’s first cliche being “The wait is over”. i think “I love it” might have been the winner!

21:06 Davina is showing us around the house and rolling around the floor. She explains there will be a Zero Tolerance regime. There’s a luxury bedroom and a really basic bedroom. I think i spotted some underbed storage from Ikea!

21:14 First new housemates are a couple (is this turning into BB USA?) - Mario and Lisa. She says “people enjoy looking at us”. He calls himself the Italian Stallion although he has never been to Italy. Getting a fair few boos. A couple in the house… I guess that’s one way to guarantee sex this year.

21:17 Luke, a politics student who doesn’t swear, drink, smoke or do drugs. Likes his suit and wants to change the image of students. On his video, asked if he is bad in bead, he says “I personally think I probably would be, yah”. He is getting lots of boos. Do people wait all year for Big Brother just so they boo people they don’t know? At the top of the stairs, he does some Hulk Hogan poses.

21:21 4th housemate is Stephanie, an attractive, seemingly ego mad blonde. She’s previously entered Popstars: The Rivals. Again, a mix of boos and cheers - I guess that will be the pattern for the night.

21:25 Big Brother calls the four into the Diary Room. He tells them they have a secret mission to make sure nobody knows that Mario and Lisa are a couple, and Mario and Stephanie have to pretend to be a couple. Lisa was initially perterbed to think she might have to pretend to be in a relationship with geeky Luke.

21:35 Rachel, a pretty trainee teacher, is the 5th housemate. In her video, she says to BB, “Oh my god you sound like Big Brother”. A definite motormouth, she has acted in commercials and been in a film with Hugh Grant. First housemate who didn’t get much of a booing. She seems to recognise Luke straight away, probably from the auditions.

21:39 Next housemate is 21 year old Dale. He’s a PE teacher but can’t stand kids. Undeniably good looking and more than a touch arrogant. His not shallow but he “wouldn’t start talking to an ugly person”. The first housemate to be distracted by the mirror before coming down the stairs.

21:44 Sylvia is a 21 year old student, who fled the civil war in Sierra Leone aged 11. She says she is very trendy and BB asks “Why didn’t you ask dress trendily today?” Tee hee! She comes across as a nice person but for some reason is getting a healthy booing. I won’t speculate as to why.

21:47 Next up is Dennis, a 23 year old dance student from Edinburgh. He seems quite an extrovert and says he eats, lives and sleeps dance. Makes an energetic entrance, shouting “Hi people!!” as he bursts in the house.

21:55 33 year old Michael is a radio producer, and is the blind contestant that was much publicised. He loves being the centre of attention and even cross dressing. He gets a pretty positive reaction from the crowd - even they wouldnt boo a blind man! He is escorted all the way into the house and told to stand there wait for the “voice of god”.

22:00 Alexandra, 23, is next up. She says she is special, she isn’t an It girl she is It! Whilst listing all the great things about herself, she includes the fact that she was on Aug 4th - the same day as the Queen Mother. She had a baby at 15 and is a non practicing muslim. Again, the unpleasant crowd send her in to the sound of boos.

22:03 11th housemate is Rex - “Most people don’t like me” which he puts down to jealousy. He runs a family restaurant. His parents split and his dad has a boyfriend. He’s a fan of bling and disappointed he can’t take his Brietling into the house. He gets a positive reaction from the crowd.

22:07 Mohamed is a toy demonstrator. He has had a difficult life, coming from Somalia. He is muslim but he eats pork and drinks until he drops.

22:10 Rebecca, a 21 year old nursery nurse. She gets great pleasure from annoying people. She says she “loves being me” and has a 4 year old kid which she says is about on her level. Proud of her hometown, she says she’s doing it for Cov! She’s highly manic and excitable but Sylvia’s immediately trying to calm her down for some reason. Killjoy!

22:20 Darnell is a striking look albino. Born in Britain but raised in the US, he has an american accent. Everyone seems to have problems taking in that his name is Darnell and call him Daniel, Danielle and Donald. In fact, Mario seems to make a point of getting people’s names wrong.

22:24 Jennier is a 24 year old part time model with a slight likeness for Cheryl Cole. She offers hew views on the audition video which can be sumed up as pro-life, anti immigration and anti meat eating.

22:27 Kathreya is a kind of short, extroverted thai masseur who says she loves cookies and loves to enjoy ever moment of eating it. She even carries her own jar with cookies in it. Davina says she’s a bundle of fun. Probably the best description. She’s wearing a shocking pink dress and huge gold platforms which makes going up the stairs a challenge. The cookies perplex some of her house mates and one of them asks “is your name cookie?”

There we have it… the 15 people who we are going to be getting to know over the next few months. Early favourites for the gamblers must be, I’d say, blind Michael or Dale…or maybe even Mario who, being older than the rest, showed an early protective attitude to Michael, offering to help him with anything he needs.
