It seems to detract from it a bit if two people have a ready made best friend and don't need to work as hard at building relationships. I do think though that it would be a good idea for big brother too just let the public decide who they dont want to watch for the first few weeks. I know quite a few people who have switched off because there are individuals in the house that are blatently unpleasant to watch.
